4aus dem Demos Perithoidai und seine Mitvorsitzenden. Beschluss des Volkes; Demetrios S.d. Kteson aus dem Demos Probalinthos
5stellte den Antrag: Da Alex- -, geehrt von dem König Ptolemaios und in
6größtem Aufstieg, wohlwollend ist insgesamt dem Volk, und speziell den nach
7Alexandria und Kyrene kommenden Bürgern stets die Ursache von Gutem ist
8- - - und worüber mehrere ihm Zeugnis abgelegt haben; - Damit nun
9auch das Volk öffentlich angemessenen Dank abstattet den ihm gegenüber Ehrgeizigen

11Alex- - und ihn bekränze mit goldenem Kranz gemäß
12dem Gesetz wegen seines Wohlwollens gegenüber dem Volk der Athener und dem König
13Ptolemaios, und den Kranz verkündige an den Dionysien in der Stadt bei der Tragödien-
14Uraufführung und an den Panathenäen und Eleusinien und Ptolemäen bei den Sportwettkämpfen;
15dass für die Verkündigung des Kranzes Sorge tragen die Generäle; dass Alex- -,
16wenn er auch in Zukunft sein Wohlwollen zeigt, noch andere Auszeichnung finden wird
17bei dem Volk, deren er für würdig erachtet wird; – Damit nun auch eine Erinnerung bleibe an die gewesenen

19Sekretär, der während der Prytanie amtiert, aufzeichne auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle auf der Akropolis; dass für die
20Aufzeichnung und die Weihung der Stele der Schatzmeister der Militärkasse die entstandenen Kosten

4was putting to the vote, and his fellow presiding committee members. The People decided. Demetrios son of Kteson of
5Probalinthos proposed: since Alex- -, honoured by king Ptolemy and of great
6distinction, is well disposed towards the People collectively, and individually is always
7responsible for some benefit for citizens coming to Alexandria and Cyrene
8- - - and several people have testified for him about this; in order, therefore, that
9the People is also seen to render worthy thanks to those who display love of honour towards them and
10- - - for good fortune, the People shall decide: to praise
11Alex- - son of - - - of - - - and crown him with a gold crown in accordance
12with the law for his good will towards the People of the Athenians and king
13Ptolemy, and to announce the crown at the tragedies of the City Dionysia in the new

15The generals shall take care of the announcement of the crown, and it shall be permitted to
16Alex- -, on showing goodwill also in the future, to obtain other benefits from the People,
17whatever he may be deemed worthy of; and in order that there may be a reminder of what has happened,
